About Us

JK Dance Academy’s mission is to provide accessible and professional dance instruction for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you are young or mature, experienced or a beginner, you are warmly welcome at our dance and performing arts classes in Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire – just minutes away from the M25. You will be joining a friendly and dynamic community with access to a full and varied timetable. Courses are offered in ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and commercial, street, aerial silks and hoops and musical theatre. Bespoke classes for seniors include Dance with Parkinson’s and Strictly Chair Dancing.

Students come to our inclusive and enjoyable classes for a number of reasons: to explore an appreciation of the art of dance; for the purpose of a career; for pure enjoyment; to improve the quality of their life; to benefit health and well-being; or simply to meet like-minded people. Whatever your motivation, you will be taught and encouraged by qualified professionals who are enthusiastic, friendly and DBS-checked. At the heart of our dance school is a commitment to excellence - our ballet classes are taught by Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) registered teachers. Students can therefore be assured of a true professional approach and standard.

Emerging dancers benefit from inspiration such as that passed on to JK Dance Academy teachers by renowned industry professionals - Julia Pearce, owner and principal of JK Dance Academy, is a graduate of Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and Pineapple Studios. Her love of dance is infectious; you can read more about her story here.

JK Dance Academy was established in 2004 with five students. Today, we work with 200 children, young people, adults and seniors. Members are invited to take part in graded exams twice a year, perform at local events and contribute to an annual show. Your family members are welcome to enjoy watching you in class at the end of every term.

Your classes will take place in safe and secure environments with ample dedicated parking spaces.

Please see the timetable for further details.

Teachers

Ms Julia, RAD RTS - Owner & Principle

Julia has danced since the age of 3 and trained at The Arts Educational School from age 9-17, followed by further training at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.

After passing all her dance exams in Ballet and Modern, Julia became an affiliate member of the Royal Academy of Dance and fulfilled her ambition to open her own dance school.

Dance is a fantastic way to combine exercise and fun, as it helps develop flexibility, balance and stamina, improving posture, core strength and self confidence.

At JK Dance Academy we offer a high standard of dance training, combined with a strong sense of enjoyment in a safe and familiar environment, for everyone of all abilities.
